The Bythiah Fund Raising

Overview;

The Bythiah Fund raising is to assist with construction of the Bythiah Academy, sports club and other things such as orphanage.
The idea behind this is to help the unprivileged children of the Democratic Republic of Congo (former Zaire) take advantage of the benefits of school like any other child and participate in different activities. It has been almost a decade that many children are left hanging without food, and education; some of these children will never have the opportunity to attend a classroom. The reason for this is because many of their parents cannot afford to pay tuition for school. Why? Because it’s expensive or because they just don’t have the money due to unemployment or lack of a decent job that will pay them enough to support the entire family.
Because of these reasons, many children are on the streets learning the tricks to survival, and others work to support or assist the rest of their family. Can you imagine your 5 year old child going out with a basket of bread on top of his head in hopes of selling enough of it to bring some type of income home that contributes to getting food just for that day? What about your 10 year old son selling cigarettes? What about your 9 or 13 year old daughter prostituting herself for $10 simply to survive? And even if they brought home the money, not everyone will be able to eat. On top of that, there are other siblings that may eat one day and not the other. Not only that, they will never get to know how a classroom will look like in their life because they will never had the chance to go to school.
All these are no jokes. We see it every day, but we sometimes neglect to assist because we are not in that situation. Put yourself in these people’s place and try to imagine if you will be able to survive. Yes, a lot of them do survive with the grace of God. Why not help? Think of how much you spend a day; think of all the loose change you leave hanging in your car, drawers, floor etc… Sometimes, that money will end up sitting there for more than month. If you pick these up and add them, this may equal a $1 or maybe more. Think about it, this is exactly what I am saying. Take that $1 and maybe think of doing something good in your life. Help a poor child go to school instead of trying to sell bread on the street. They will learn something substantial for the future that will give them the opportunity to see a bigger picture.
All I’m trying to say is please help these poor kids go to school. Give all you can, $1, $5, $10, and any amount matters. You will receive the following gifts (subject to change) and your name will be added to the commemorative plaque of The Bythiah Academy. In doing so, you will always remember that you did something by making a change in these kids life. The truth is, we cannot save the whole country, but at least one kid will be off of the streets because of something you’ve done.
The children of D.R.C. are very talented in many ways. They are born with a gift of being able to survive when they don’t have much to live off of. Most of these children live by the grace of God. Not knowing what tomorrow will bring, but still have hopes that one day a savior will come and get them out of this misery. Just like the children of Egypt waited for Moses.
Regardless of how long it took, they had faith that one day they will be free from being slaves of the Pharaoh. But who is Moses for these children? It is left for you and me to answer this question. If we don’t act now, when will we?
